Writing Apps:
Ideas:
- Think About- wonderful ideas app created by teachers. this is simple for kids to use, has student drawings, bylines, and a read aloud feature
- Write About- Love this app! Picture prompts for ideas or for an entire story. This gives each student their own library and also saves work to camera roll- also has a read aloud feature.
- Clock Work Notebook- create a personal journal/notebook. This app gives capability for drawing with color, typing text, and adding stickers from their bank or your camera roll.
- Make Beliefs- easy comix site with banks of characters, objects, settings, emotions, and text- fun way to storyboard
- Storyboards 3D- create a fun story board using your own pictures from camera roll. Character bank is limited with the free version, but has wonderful emotions, poses, text, and read aloud features
Writing/Publishing:
- Bookabi- create a book with supplied characters and your own camera roll pics as settings, also has a read aloud feature
- Videolicious- this is such fun! Use your camera roll pictures and videos, add narration, and them music to create 1 minute videos

- Book Creator- very comprehensive book maker! Add in your own photos from camera roll, drawing/doodle capability, text, cover, and read aloud features, and you can download these straight to iBooks for easy reading and grading. The free version lets you create 1 book, but to get more use out of it, just edit the pages for your next book and save all to iBooks. If you have a whole class doing these, it would be worth it to buy the upgraded version
- iBooks- download this if you don’t have it- good for ebooks and downloads of many kinds
